Designed on a new platform with an entirely new optical system, the Aurora is, we believe one of the very best lightweight pro field binoculars available today. With performance, comfort, ergonomics and attention to detail equal or better than its sister model, the Aurora BGA VHD 10x42 delivers a wider 6.6° FOV, closer focus to 1.9m/6.2ft and a sweet spot so large it will surprise and delight even the most critical eyes.

As I’ve come to expect with Opticron equipment, the Aurora binocular offers extremely good value for money. Its performance in various light levels raises the bar for binoculars in the middle price bracket, and indeed rivals that of many more expensive models.

In terms of optical quality, in optimal light conditions, I found it excellent. In fact, I was entertained in comparing the two binoculars thanks to a group of Red-rumped Swallows that were perched on an electric wire, and I was hardly able to see any difference with my Zeiss. The Opticron Aurora have a very good contrast and the definition of the colours is totally faithful to what is perceived with the naked eye.
